German Branch Call for Papers
The German/Austrian Branch invites members of the International Arthurian Society to its (German language) Branch colloquium in Gumpoldskirchen (close to Vienna), February 24th-27th, 2016. The colloquium’s topic is “Emotion and Motivation. Psychology (of Figures) in Arthurian Literature”. Papers will deal with the question of the interior side of figures, of the emotional or non-emotional motivation of their behaviour and actions, and with the question of how far the recipient’s emotions play a role for the constitution of the “text” during the process of reading, or possibly also for the identity and the character of the literary genre.
The deadline for offering contributions to the colloquium is 15th April 2015.
